Aliki's studio is in the back of her home in Brantford Ontario, where she works with plaster, gauze, paint, encaustic and other textural elements. She also works with felted wool on three dimensional pieces.
Aliki works in layers that provide textures and sheen that contrast and give a variety of visuals to the onlooker. Aliki is concerned with global issues and often depicts imagery that implore the viewer to dig more deeply to find the meaning of the image before them. There are often recurring images in Aliki's work, such as birds, trees, solitary figures and other rural and urban iconography. Her work lately is centred around houses and housing; things we have built and things we destroy.
When not in her studio, she teaches art workshops in elementary schools and works as the Education and Events Coordinator at the Brantford Arts Block. She has worked as an art educator for Learning Through The Arts, Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant, St. Leonard's society and the Grand Erie District School Board Enrichment Program.
